Spring is here and many of the new collections are in store… in
fact some have been for a few months and hot cult items are SOLD
OUT (like Stella McCartney’s blush pink boyfriend blazer at
Neiman Marcus). My recent fashion blogs have been hitting many of
the hot styles that are a big part of the season’s trends, so this
editorial will focus more on item driven pieces.
Boyfriend Jacket
If you didn’t buy one in black last fall, buy one now. If you already have one, buy more! Mouse gray, cobalt blue, bastard pink, and white. Everyone from Bebe(featured below) to Dior has a version, so no matter your budget- you will find one.
Shoulder Strap Purses
Whether it’s a boho-chic hobo style (as seen in this Spring/Summer Jimmy Cho campaign) or a classic 2.55 Chanel cult version for day or night, the shoulder strap should be long and strong. Even cuter are when worn across the chest, messenger bag style.
Tulip Skirts
Similar to their straight pencil skirt sister, Tulip skirts are wider in the hips, with ruched type of pleats that are forgiving to ample hips and tummy section. We like this ;) They are great waist cinchers, so this shape is all about a top that blouses over the waist and shows off the gams. Don with flats for day or heels for night, a couple accessory changes can take this piece from day to night. Hem lengths play anywhere from a cropped mini-skirts to a few inches above the knees, making it a trend to try for different body types. I love this Marc Jacobs one below.
