Top 4 Reasons why having a personal stylist can save you
money and keep your closet fabulous:
- You Buy Less
- You Wear What You Have
- Your Closet Has Space for New Items
- You’ll Never Shop Alone Again.. sort of ;)
A. You Buy Less
Your personal list of seasonal purchases keeps you on a budget and
prioritizes your needs. You will be armed with a list of things
that work with your wardrobe and be told what you do not need as
well! This is keeps impulse buys away or at a minimum.
Example: You are at Macy’s shopping for a pair of gladiator
pumps in chocolate brown that Miss Rita advised would go with many
of your Spring/Summer outfits. You see a pair of ankle boots from
last fall on sale, and instead of succumbing to the deal, you
remember that she counted 7 pairs of ankle boots that you already
own, so you put them down and keep searching for what’s on your
list.
B. You Wear What You Already Own
Example:Your wardrobe edit turned out 30 new ‘work’ looks
with items you already own, but styled and accessorized in new ways
gives your existing clothing new life! You spend your hard earned
money on your clothes, you should get the most possible wear out of
them.
C. Your closet is emptier! Leaving room for smart
purchases!
When your closet is not jam-packed with things you do not wear, you
can actually plan your outfits much easier when there is space
inside to see! No more yanking out sweaters from a pile that hasn’t
been touched in years… Your favorite pieces will be displayed, much
like a boutique appeals to you because the clothing is merchandised
well. A well merchandised and clean closet is the first step in
getting your style organized.
D. You will never shop alone again… sort of ;)
Armed
with your new list and style identity strongly defined, you feel
confident hitting the stores to start shopping for the season!
Everything is going well, you stay away from silhouettes or styles
that you have been advised against and reach for the pieces that
are right for you. Then, you see something that has your heart
racing. You take it to the dressing room, and unsure of it’s
practicality, you try it on, and then take a snap shot of yourself
in the mirror. You hand it to the salesperson and ask to put it on
hold for one day. That afternoon you email the picture to Miss Rita
, and send her a text letting you know you have a fashion
situation. She replies to you with her take on the item, and you
can feel confident that she approved or disapproved it with total
objectivity.
